When can walking be perceived as dancing? This movement exploration began by applying rhythmical filters to the action of stepping. Strongly inspired by principles coming from House Dance technique, the action of transferring weight became a dynamic balancing game. Tapping, hopping, thrusting, all composed the movement score that played aside the music beat. I thought: when we are exposed to an induced regular beat , wouldn't most of us start tapping with the feet, nodding with the head, entraining with that regular repetition? May therefore walking - a regular and repetitive action - have something to do with the way we get absorbed into movement when hearing certain music?
